Become a Transitional Work Employer:
Thank you for your interest in partnering with us at the Quincy Transitional Work Program of Horizons Social Services!
From time to time, Horizons will need to place one of the people we have been mentoring in the Quincy Transitional Work Program into a part- or full- time job in the greater Quincy area. Of course, we also direct these individuals to local job placement agencies, but we have found that when a person has a “history”, even if they have set things in motion to redeem the past, sometimes it can be very hard to find gainful employment. As a result, we seek to be advocates for those who we genuinely believe have changed, are changing, are at low risk for repeat offenses, and who will be a positive asset to their employer.
At Horizons we take a strong hand in monitoring the progress of our men and women once they are employed, and we continue to support them in being part of a local church community. Research has proven that with continued support, mentoring and local church community involvement, former offenders are much less likely to repeat harmful patterns of behavior. As a result, we are able to offer employers hard-working individuals who have a tremendous amount of motivation and support to insure their success in the workplace and in life.
If you would be willing to offer one of our dedicated individuals and their support team the opportunity to work for your business, please contact our program manager Mark Geissler. Contact Mark here, or stop by our offices sometime between 10:30am – 1:30pm, Monday thru Friday. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
